Allow me to Introduce Myself...
Hi there, my name is Meesh Masters, founder of The Dog’s Point of View, and I specialise in working with Adopters of Romanian and overseas rescue dogs. I've had the pleasure of living with and learning from dogs for 40 years, and currently share life with my Border Collie Sky and my Romanian Rescue boy Tramp - two very different personalities!
Sky is a very robust dog, there's not much that phases her! She's the happiest dog ever, HIGHLY connected to me and just can't wait to do something with me, anything! 🥰
Tramp, on the other hand, is a far more stoic and independent boy who can be environmentally sensitive at times. He's a mischievous boy who loves to be cheeky, takes his job as 'guardian of the property' very seriously and makes me laugh every single day 🥰
My career as a trainer & behaviour consultant began nearly 20 years ago, and my journey with these fascinating natural world dogs began in 2015, when I started fostering and supporting adopters of Romanian rescue dogs in the UK.
It was thanks to Tramps more sensitive, instinctive & independent nature that I had to learn a whole different way of connecting and working with him - It quickly became clear that Romanian dogs were different from UK-born dogs. Their lineage - shaped by street life and natural selection - means they rely heavily on instinct and don’t always respond to conventional 'training' methods.
Learning to work with these fascinating dogs in a way that respected their true nature changed everything for me, and I’ve been sharing that knowledge ever since.
My mission is to reach and support as many adopters & canine professionals as possible, ensuring they have the knowledge & tools to understand and support these incredible dogs, as they do their best to transition to a completely different life than what they've been used to.
Today, I’m proud to be Patron of Cloud K9 Rescue and Annie’s Trust and to advise several other rescue organisations. I also run the Romanian Rescue Pro Trainers Programfor qualified trainers and have developed an education and resource program for rescues rehoming Romanian and Eastern European dogs, helping volunteers and adopters feel more confident in supporting them.
I use only positive, compassionate, and fear free methods when working with you and your dogs - and through my holistic approach I aim to ensure your dogs physical, emotional, and instinctive natures are all supported - helping them feel safer, more confident, and better understood in their new life with you.
I’m also qualified to assess canine biomechanics, gait & posture to identify possible pain or discomfort that might be contributing to behaviour issues. Given how many of these dogs have had a poor start in life with poor nutrition & care, possible trauma, neglect, or untreated injuries - being able to assess pain in a completely hands-off way is a crucial element to successfully providing a holistic approach to behaviour modification.
Everything I do is about helping adopters and professionals work with these dogs, in a way that truly aligns with who and how they are as individuals, rather than ignoring their ingrained natural instincts.
